Shoutout to my mother for this vintage denim jacket featured in this post. I’ve always been so hesitant to wear denim on denim , especially when it’s the same wash, but this hat inspired me. My hat is the BK special from Tribe Kelley. Each hat is hand crafted by Hampui Medicine Hats with authentic Argentinian wool felt. So this amazing hat, that I have hanging in my room under my lovely Nashville sign (from Bliss Home), inspired my whole outfit, and truly pushed me out of my comfort zone to rock this denim on denim combo.
As I previously mentioned, my denim jacket is vintage from my momma and has a corduroy collar. I could only find denim jackets for men that had a corduroy collar. This will give you a boxier look and be cute, but make sure you go for a smaller size. This ASOS one, this A.P.C. denim jacket, another ASOS one. In women’s I was able to find some denim shearling jackets: this one from Scotch & Soda, this ASOS one (also available in petite), and this Levi’s jacket available in multiple washes. The tank top I’m wearing underneath is from Planet Blue. It is one of their ribbed v-neck tanks (red, striped). I have to wear sticky nips and fashion tape when I wear these tanks. I have it in black and white. These are my favorite sticky nips (they come in different shades), I like the non-stick ones for when its hot and/or humid and the sticky ones for when its colder, dryer weather. I like the fashion tape this company sells as well.
My jeans are old Citizens of Humanity. I just got these from Vici that are similar and I LOVE them (and they’re super cheap!). Some others I’m liking that are similar: these citizens (these are sold out at nordstrom, shopbop, and revolve), these re/done, these citizens, these levi’s, and these levi’s. My booties were a Christmas gift from my Hubby. He got them on sale! Frye actually has a perforated version of the boot on sale right now, I’m OBSESSED! It comes in these colors too!
So these photos were taken at a microbrewery here in Nashville called the Bearded Iris. I don’t normally drink and when I do it’s typically a glass of red wine. But some friends invited me to come with them for the launch of a new beer at the Bearded Iris. The Bearded Iris is “a brewery taproom serving rotating, old-world style beer.” Their beer was actually really good and it’s all IPAs which until trying their beer I hated. I thought I would share what I learned…so these new style breweries that are popping up all over the US serve what many refer to as New England style IPAs. They are kind of similar in palette to Blue Moon, with a strong fruit profile, higher ABVs, and a very smooth taste. Some other breweries I heard are good: Aslin in Herndon, VA; Veil in Richmond, VA; Triple Crossing in Richmond, VA; Evil Twin in Brooklyn, NY; Treehouse in Charlton, MA; The Answer in Richmond, VA; and Cigar City in Tampa, FL. Like I said, I’m not a big drinker and definitely not an advocate of drinking, but find this interesting! Hope y’all have a great weekend 🙂
