Disney World Essentials

Hi! This is the second post of my Disney World series. It includes some essential tips for your trip to Disney! ALL DISNEY WORLD VACATIONERS should download the My Disney Experience app and get a magic band.

My Disney Experience (the mobile app)

My Disney Experience

This app is literally VITAL to your trip. You will login (or create) to your Disney account, which is a huge help for dinner reservations, hotel reservations, magic band, fast pass, and more! You can view wait times for rides and characters, view all attractions that are open at each park, see where characters are, find nearby dining & restrooms, look up entertainment & events, find tours, see where photopass photographers are located, and view guest services, hotels, spa, shops, and recreation. All of this is available on the app! CRAZYYY!! You can view all this on a list or the map of Disney World

When you touch the blue Mickey button at the bottom of your app you can view park information and entry including showtimes, park hours, and tickets. You have access to your plans (which you can plan in advance on the app!!!)! The app lets you access FastPass+. These selections can be made up to 30 days in advance, 60 days in advance with a Disney Reservation! Basically you get to pick 3 for the day and it links to you magic band or ticket. These 3 do have to be in the same park, but once you use all 3 you can get a FastPass+ for another park. You can also make a dining reservation, book a hotel, or link your existing dining/hotel reservation.

If you decide to get a memory maker (which I highly recommend) you can purchase it, find photographers, link photos, and view all photos through the My Photos section of the app.

For all of the above reasons, this app is literally crucial to a successful Disney World visit!

Disney Magic Band

Magic Bands are $12.95 at Disney World, and free (gray color) with Disney reservations. You literally don’t have to worry about taking anything with you if you have a Magic Band. You scan your magic band to enter parks, enter the FastPass lane, and even pay for food, drink, merchandise, etc. Your tickets and credit card link to your Magic Band.

Not only does this band make your trip more convenient, it speeds things up. You don’t have to carry your wallet to pay for food, you just scan your Magic Band. You don’t have to fidget in your pocket to get your tickets to enter the park or fast pass, you just scan you Magic Band. It truly is an ingenious creation by Disney World and I’m in LOVE with it. It also serves as your door key if you are staying at a Disney Resort.

Hope these two tips help make your Disney trip extra magical!

Disney World Outfit Day 1

I’m literally a two-year old girl at heart…just ask my fiancé. About a month after we got engaged we went to Disney World on probably the only free weekend we will have until fall because he plays baseball. It is almost always HOT in Orlando, so don’t think just because you are going to Disney later in the summer that this blog post won’t do you any help. It will!

If you are like me you probably like to “attempt” to plan out your outfits when you take a trip..especially Disney! You want to look cute, stay cool, and still be comfortable. Over this series of posts I will go over not only tips on what to wear, but planning your trip, where you should stay, and MUST DOs.

So I went for completely different outfits while I was there. I’ll start with my day one.

my: shoes   shirt   shorts

I love Vince slip-on shoes, I own high-tops and low-tops and they are always my go to. I’ve never been a big slip on person because I blister easily. Vince slip-ons have NEVER given me a problem and they are SO COMFY. I loved wearing them all day, every day. I got my shirt from this boutique in Florida called Etiquette. If you are in Florida I highly recommend, they carry a variety of clothes: For Love and Lemons, Blank NYC, their own brand Etiquette, and more. Unfortunately, they do not have a website so I linked a similar shirt from Nordstrom. These Blank NYC shorts are my FAVORITE and I’m not a big jean short girl because they always fit me weird. I did go up a size in the shorts just because I think jean shorts are more flattering when they are a little looser. There is also a jean jacket that matches the shorts and is so cute.

my fiancé: shoes   shirt   shorts   hat

My fiancé, Jeremy, went for the DILF workout look all weekend. We are a big fan of Nike, especially Nike Flyknit Air Max. Jeremy owns multiple pairs and is looking to get the Nike Air VaporMax soon. They are so comfy, they look good with just about everything, and they are great workout and running shoes. We discovered the workout brand Vuori last fall and fell in LOVE. Jeremy started with one pair of shorts, and now owns about 30 items from them because their clothes are such great quality for lounge and workout. Lululemon is a wardrobe staple for both Jeremy and I, I actually used to work for them and the quality of their workout clothes is incredible and its comfortable. He is wearing their 5 Year Basic Tee, which can be worn with jeans for a night out, to workout, or as a lounge shirt. Lastly, J is a big snapback guy. He is wearing a Travis Mathew hat (also a huge fan of their polos). Typically he likes a snapback over a fitted hat, but that is just his preference….and ladies, you don’t have to worry about sizing if you get your man a snapback. It adds a little fun to any outfit, again whether you are going out, working out, or lounging around.
